Do You Float Candles in Your Bathtub?

I think that floating candles in a bathtub is absolutely romantic, but when it comes down to it, who has the time? I can imagine doing so on a romantic vacation, but it's not my style for a weekly bath at home.

This looks cool. Mostly my concern would be how accident prone I am... This could end up really badly for me. It seems like it would be hard to get burnt, but I would probably find a way accidently. It never fails.

I agree with skigurl, it's not very practical. I have candles around my tub, though :)

I've used them once or twice in a commercial hot spring, and that was a much larger tub so the candles could stay while the tub was in use! That was fun, to make them float around and try not to put them out. In the case of a smaller tub, I think I'd leave the candles on a shelf or something!

I have always liked the idea, and it looks nice for presentation purposes, but not practical if you actually want to take a bath. Lighting a tea candle and putting it on a shelf or something is a better idea if you still want the lighting of a candle without the hassle of having to sit in the water with a candle floating near you.

I think this is a nice idea for romance lighting but not while I actually want to bathe in the tub.

I have to agree skigurl. I'm not a bathtaker, persay, but this seems awkward to have them floating around when you are bathing... it is a beautiful look if you are having an open house, or a holiday party, and you really want to dress up your bathroom, but as far as during bathing, doesn't seem practical. Beautiful though, esp with some rose petals or flowers floating along with them...

it looks pretty but how practical is it? how do you really take a bath with candles in the tub? i guess i could see drawing a bath, putting them there, having your partner see it, be wowed by it, then take them out...but really, it's a lot of work
