I've got moooore Jonathan Adler for you. JA's Meurice Butler Tray ($565) at Inside Avenue is pretty perfect: bamboo-shaped silver nickel legs, a white lacquered lift-off tray, cute little bamboo handles, and folding legs. It'd be equally useful for creating a bar at home as it would be as a side table or even a nightstand. But it'll cost you nearly 600 smackers. Even if I were rolling in it, I couldn't bring myself to spend so much on a little tray table. I'd rather buy artwork or an antique . . . or shoes! Luckily, I know a much, much more affordable version of this tray table.
West Elm's Butler Tray and Stand ($179) doesn't have bamboo-style legs, but it's nearly an exact match otherwise — for a third of the price. It's sold in a range of colors, too, if white isn't your thing. I actually really like its more streamlined legs. They're discreet and timeless, whereas Adler's design has Hollywood Regency flair.
