Design Star's Courtland Lands in Bottom With Wood Paneled Wall

Love It or Hate It? Courtland's Wood-Paneled Wall

Every week I look forward to cozying up on the couch with my remote and blanket and tuning into HGTV's Design Star to feel inspired and hopefully learn a trick or two. In the latest episode, the contestants were put to task in NYC fire houses. Given a small amount of space, the remaining eight designers were challenged to create a welcoming yet useful area for the on-duty firefighters.
As there are in every episode, the bottom two designers were called out for their "bad" design choices. While it was ultimately Nina's cardboard braille message and poor choice in furniture that sent her packing, it was Courtland's wood-paneled wall that had him fighting for his HGTV life. The judges criticized his choice of paneling, but I have to admit, I kinda liked it. I may not choose it for my own home, but somehow, it seemed fitting in the engine house. What do you think of the paneled wall?
