4 Ideas For Landlord-Friendly Decorating

CasaSugar Community member smtomek recently asked the CasaSugar Q&A group, "I'm moving in August, and the landlord doesn't allow painting or holes in walls. What can I do to decorate on a grad school budget?" As a renter myself, I've definitely encountered this dilemma! My first piece of advice is to ask your landlord if he'll allow you to paint, so long as you paint the apartment back to its original color before you move. If you get it in writing (even just over email), you should be a-OK. He might also allow you to hang artwork and drapery so long as you spackle any holes before you move, as well. It's worth it to have the discussion.
