Painting ceilings in such a moody shade might seem counterintuitive to most – especially for spaces with low to average ceilings. While we first dismissed the idea as an automatic room shrinker, we stumbled upon a stunning Portland loft that completely changed our minds!
Jessica Helgerson Design did an incredible job transforming this warehouse-turned-trendy loft building. While the unit packed plenty of industrial perks, its charm was masked by a clashing color palette of red, green, and blue. Jessica and her team picked charcoal gray and shades of white to give their clients the sophisticated color scheme they desired, designating the deep gray to the ceiling beams for a dramatic finish.
While we're usually partial to color, the pared-down palette feels far from sterile. Earthy wood and leather accents, lush plants, and dazzling light fixtures add plenty of warmth and glamour to the space. Still, we're curious – would you be bold enough to take the dark ceiling plunge? Let us know!
