I needed a headboard for the king size bed in our guest room. I wanted something with a natural look and lots of texture. I wasn't able to find anything within my budget, so I DIY'ed a headboard with an old door that was collecting dust in my garage, some manila rope from Home Depot, and about five tons of hot glue.  Okay, maybe not five tons, but it was a lot.
