PS: I love that you didn't shy away from a formal gown despite the rustic setting. What made you fall in love with that particular dress?
IC: My dress hunt was ridiculous! I bought two dresses shortly into my search, then later sold them. Then I thought I'd have a dress made. I really just didn't think I'd be able to find a dress that I could afford that would make me feel like me, look good on me, and look OK at a rustic venue. I also really wanted to feel that feeling that I thought you were supposed to feel when you found your dress. When I found the Monique Lhuillier dress, I finally felt the feeling, which was funny because I was beginning to believe that it just wasn't possible to feel love for a dress. It was flattering, fun, simple, but complicated at the same time, not too princess-y, and it was super lightweight. It was the only dress (outside of this ridiculously expensive Oscar de la Renta) that I felt absolutely beautiful in. Every other dress was just a dress and not me. I still couldn't really afford it, but I bought it anyway. Since I got it during a trunk show, there was a discount.
