Maybe it's the bright, primary colors, or maybe it's the mobile's ability to transport even the most jaded home design enthusiast back to childhood whimsy. Whatever the reason, I am absolutely smitten with Frazier and Wing's gorgeous mobiles.

These lovely home accessories are actually upcycle projects, since they are constructed from old magazines.

Each mobile features hundreds of carefully selected magazine pages. This two-sided visual element is hand cut and strung with monofilament. Designer Heather Frazier then hangs four strands of the magazine elements from a thin plexiglass disc.

Frazier, who says she is inspired by the installation work of Gerda Steiner & Jorg Lenzlinger as well as artists Kiki Smith and Yoshitomo Nara, notes that each mobile is a handmade labor of love taking up to eight hours to construct, and lend a colorful and happy mood to modern interiors.

Cute, that room looks like an elementary classroom.
1I love it!! How do I get one?
2valova82, just click on the Frazier and Wing link and then scroll to the bottom of the page. Prices and styles are listed there. Enjoy!
3it looks really nice but im sure you could easily make one yourself?
4This would look cute in a corner. Much cuter than a fake ficus tree!
5I agree with daisyeater. Why spend $200 on something made out of old magazines. It would be a fun project that would be a conversation piece.
6It's cute, but that's somethign that I could easily do myself with some old gift wrapping paper, magazine, etc. lying around, some thread and a needle.
7.
They are cute though
I agree, these are cute. I think if I use my scrapbook paper I might be able to make one!
8Mmmeeehhhh I dunno if they really strike me as something that I would want in my house...
9im sorry i was too busy drooling over the chairs to pay much attention to the mobile
10oh wait i'll scroll back up
*pause*
ok i'm back
that's cute too!
very cute - lots of fun!
11ugh! give me $25 dollars for postcards and orgiami paper and some ultra thin fishing line and i'll give you something worth $175 bucks. unbelievable but it is interesting
12Well, I love the look, and idea behind the "upcycle" as well as her inspirations (Yosh*tomo Nara is awesome). I have done loads of things with old magazines myself; and there's great ideas out there such as a DOOR (!) made out of compacted old magazines! I agree that the price is a bit high but it's the idea that counts--and who had it first. Plus it does take time to fashion the mobile.
13ye u cld totally do this yrself, love it tho- gorgeous!
14I'm sorry but I just see it as another thing to collect dust.
