I've always wanted one of those bookshelves like you see in movies, where lifting one strategic book causes the shelf to spin around and reveal a secret passageway. But for now, I'll settle for the Anthropologie Secret Cabinet ($1,998). Though this blue-gray chest looks like a five-drawer dresser, it's actually a cabinet, with a single door that swings open to reveal bright yellow shelves. Not only is this fun, but it would be a great way to store clutter without it ever looking messy.

gimmmmmmee gimmmmmeeee... I love it!
I always wanted a cool secret bookshelf too, but this thing hardly looks like a secret.
I don't like it - the cut marks down it just look bad.
yeah, it doesn't really look like a secret anything.
I like it- I just wish it wasn't so expensive
I agree, its not so secret looking. They should have at least hinged it from the inside.
It's not a secret! I have relatives that had one of those secret bookcases. I found it when I first walked into the room and nobody else could tell it was there. They just stored misc. stuff behind it...what a waste of a secret room!
I agree, the cut marks are incredibly apparent. The entire piece looks dumb and cheap.
I don't like this.
Why not just have either the dresser OR the shelves? You
can get plenty of doored cabinets that would look way better than those cut marks down the front.
I don't like it, does not look secret at all! YUCK!!!
Ummm No
that's the most obvious "secret" bookshelf...
Sorry, not a fan.
Meh . . . I'm not impressed.
lame
Innovative but way toooooooo expensive.
bleh- for that price, and it even looks crappy, no thanks.
yeah, actually a better way to spend two grand would be to pay my rent, car payments, phone bills, etc.
yuck - i like cool hidden compartments - but this is just a case of form not meeting function
You'd have to stand really far away from that to make it a secret.
bleh
After thinking about this, I think it could have had potential for me if they had just used a solid front piece that opened with hinges on the inside so you wouldn't see them.
I'm not too fond of it. It would look much better if it were seamless.
They should have made the door a little less obvious otherwise what's the point?
I don't like the cut marks on the front, but the concept is cool. They just need a different design. The door should have opened from the side. It can be done! Also, the price is a little high if you ask me!
interesting idea but yeah - too bad about the visible seams. i want a secret room off my bedroom! so cool...
Ok, I know....they should have hinged the entire front panel! Use a piano hinge nothing too big and obvious!!
not loving the seam but am loving the yellow punch! dude i always wanted a secret room too! like a mini door behind something or other that lead to back ways in to other rooms.
I think it would be cute for a kids room. I like it!
Nope, not for me...ewww!
Not so much! I could make one of these (I just built beautiful bookshelves in my den!) for a lot less $$ and would look more interesting
i think this is very cute.. anthropologie has beautiful things..
Sorry but not for me. Don't like the way it looks all cut up & the price is overkill.
looks like something you'd buy at Kirkland's or some cheap place. Way overpriced.
this is really lame...there is no secret about it!
Please, somebody give it to me.
not for me
