Some of the obstacles that Sara Lopergolo, Ed Wood, and their kids faced during their loft renovation included maneuvering building materials through street repairs, hauling materials and debris up stairs due to the building's lack of elevator, and a lengthy construction process. While the family says that next time they won't try to live in the space while it's being renovated, the upgrades made it all worthwhile.
