Christian Decorating Schemes

Do You Know Anyone With a "Christian" Decorating Scheme?

When I was talking with YumSugar's Katie Sweeney yesterday about her friend's Mexican-inspired bathroom, I noted how many crosses there are in the room and wondered if her friend is very religious. Katie responded, "Actually, it's funny; she's not! She just considers 'Christian' to be a decorating style. It's a really cool bathroom." In addition to the crosses, the room also features religious artwork and angelic figurines.

I'd never really thought about "Christian" as a decorating style, but then again I've never encountered a room like this. But it makes perfect sense to me, actually. Some of the most influential, arresting artwork in the world — and pretty much everything from the Baroque period — revolves around Christian, or Catholic, history and beliefs. Furthermore, crosses in their own right are simply beautiful decorative ornaments. If you're in search of a theme, it's an alluring and facile one to gravitate toward. That said, it would be strange to me for non-Christians to choose the theme, of course.

Do you know anyone who has chosen "Christian" as an entire decorating scheme, rather than just a cross here or there, etc? (Priests, bishops, nuns, etc. excluded.)
