I love the romantic elegance of the Anthropologie Italian Campaign Canopy Bed ($1,700, queen-size frame). With a durable wrought-iron frame and a timeless beauty, it would be an incredible addition to any bedroom.
However, given the fact that you'd have to pay close to $2,000 for a frame alone, by the time you outfitted the rest of the bedroom with mattress, linens, furniture, and artwork, you'd have to spend nearly all of your time in the bedroom, simply to justify its expense.
If you're in love with this bed but can't bear to spend so much on the frame, good news. I've found a cheaper option for a wrought-iron canopy bed.
The Maison Canopy Bed from Pottery Barn Teen ($800 for queen-size frame in black iron) is a close match to Anthropologie's frame, and offers a major price point difference. With a little styling, it could look just as sophisticated and elegant as Anthropologie's version. Like the Anthropologie version, it has an iron frame and a matte-rubbed finish. The angles on the frame are slightly different than the fluid lines on the more expensive Anthropologie canopy bed, but overall, they're a very close match. So, which one would you choose?
