I'm a big qulit fan, so when BellaSugar introduced me to Jessica Ogden and Jean Touitou's The Quilt Project, I eagerly pored over the seven quilt designs, which hit Apc stores last week.
Hand-stitched in India in runs of 30 quilts per design, they use a patchwork of material used in past collections from Apc. I especially like the look of Quilt Q5A ($995), with its punchy use of plaids and ginghams.
I also love that fabric scraps are being upcycled into quilts — it's a great example of reuse from a major company — but at a cool thousand dollars per quilt, I'm definitely not going to be purchasing one anytime soon.
Do you love the look of this mad-for-plaid quilt, but don't want to spend this much for bedding? Check out this alternative.
You can custom order a queen-sized madras plaid quilt for under $200 from Indiana-based Etsy shop NoeskeNotions.
While the quilt pictured here is not as varied as the one from the Apc Quilt Project, you can specify patterns and fabric in your order to this mother-and-daughter shop, so you can change the look as much as you want to make it fit seamlessly into your home's style.
