I am also from the heart of the adirondacks and a true adirondack chair is made from the woods in which they were invented. It makes no sense to me to put that name on something that does not uphold the tradition of where it came from...the world can't be perfect though.

I don't know any American geography so I quit as question 1! All I know is up here they're called Muskoka chairs, and Muskoka is a very nice area about 1 1/2 hours north of Toronto where all the rich Americans flock to in the summer. It's a great place to wakeboard too!

I have been coveting two of their chairs, plus the footstools for my backyard. I would love to paint them a bright color and place them where I could see them from my dining area.
