We've all gotten better about ditching plastic bags and using CFLs, but there are plenty of other simple ways to be "green" and save money that we often overlook. One of these is to make a habit of only running full loads of dishes in your dishwasher and full loads of laundry in your washer and dryer. This is particularly true for your dishwasher, because most dishwashers don't have a "small" option. It'll save water, money, and energy, not to mention detergent. Stay tuned for more energy saving tips!

This should be great.
1Truth be told, I've always wondered why anyone would turn on their dishwasher if it WASN'T full. It just seems so common sensically wasteful?!
2I don't have a dishwasher but whenever I do laundry it's a really full load (usually a little too full).
3Fill 'er up! Yeah, also, skip the "dry" cycle on your dishwasher to save extra energy, and extra cash.

not even sure why the dry cycle is an option...it's called time. or a towel
5i have a little counter-top dishwasher which holds enough dishes for two people (several meals, so we run it every other day) which works well - we open the door when the drying cycle starts and it all dries very quickly.
6I usually do laundry and dishes after 9pm.
7hopefully everyone already does this?! gosh
8Everybody should be doing this already!
