While I love to have birds around my home, and put out bird feeders to encourage them, I don't want them in my vegetable garden. This is especially true in the Spring, when birds might scratch up newly planted seeds. So, how to keep them out of your garden patch? Craft some bird-deterring devices. Use old, scratched CDs or DVDs to get this job done. Just tie some thread onto the discs and hang them from plant stakes, trellises, or trees. The reflective rays that bounce off the discs will help scare away seed-stealing birdies.
