So I had five days to get our guest bathroom and bedroom ready for a friend of my husband's who is visiting tomorrow. I work full-time and we of course had lots of other commitments this week, so I spent about 1-2 hours each evening preparing . . . and as little money as was physically possible. I have a few upcoming plans, but due to time constraints, this is all I could do for the moment . . . the bedroom is more bare than I'd wanted, but making the bed (my childhood bed) visually acceptable was my main goal.

The decorative pillows I made (a standard sham and a scalloped fleece throw pillow):
For the guest bathroom I have a black, white, and gray shower curtain and have been wanting to incorporate purple in decor somewhere in the house, so I'm doing it here. Also, just discovered these beautiful flowers grow in our backyard! I made the dish to the right with Ikea Ideal candle holder and Neglinge tealight holder, and I bought some travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste, and a loofah, in case our guest forgets his! Gotta add hand soap of course, though.
I did a Casa Craving challenge a LONG time ago — before we bought our house — and it was for a purple bathroom, decorated with these West Elm prints (sketched botanicals):
Loved them, but they're sold out . . . so I made my own with different plants and in purple ink to draw in the color more.
