Julie, who writes the awesome blog Mamaphunk, recently took her kitchen from drab to fab with a total makeover. She writes, "My husband and I did everything except install the cabinets and countertops, we're good but not that good! I wanted to go for an Anthropologie-like vibe and I think I did a decent job. I also love color and really wanted to make a splash."
Here's how the kitchen looked before Julie got started. To see how she infused this dull space with color and life, read more.
I love the bright pops of green that have given this kitchen new life and energy. These two shades are ones that I would never have thought of putting together, yet I adore the effect. It's unexpected, lively, and fun. I'm also a huge fan of the tin tiles that Julie has used as a backsplash along the wall. And of course, the new cabinets and countertops are a huge improvement. Love it!! The kitchen we redid in our last home we used that gree in it too (also with black counters and light cabinets) and I absolutely loved it. It's so earthy feeling. I also had wanted to do a stainless steel backsplash, which we never got around to, ended up having to move. But I love what you did with this!!
and I so want one of those Keep Calm posters!
Really great job, I love it!!
1sigh gree should be green.... I'm still waking up apparently lol.
2I think it looks great! Congrats. I wish I had the extra cash to fix up my kitchen right now. Don't think it would take much. I just want to paint the cabinets white, put in a black granite counter (we have very little counter space & could use mostly reminants) and get new tile for the floor. It would make the place look 100xs better. Ah to dream. Thanks for sharing!
3Thanks to everyone for the nice compliments and thank you for featuring our kitchen!
4I want to know where you got those tin tiles. I love them!
5We bought ours at Home Depot, but I've seen them at Lowe's too!
6Beautiful!
