Before and After Fireplace Makeover

This is what my fireplace looked like when I moved into my new house eight months ago. We referred to it as the black hole! I don't think a wall could get any uglier. Honestly we wouldn't even turn the fireplace on this Winter because it would just draw attention to the emptiness!

Well, I came up with a design and hired my go-to guy to come over, and this was the end result!
