We decided to host Thanksgiving this year, which is great, but also not so great because we just moved into our new home and did not have a dining room table. I needed a new table and, of course, spending thousands of dollars was not in the budget, especially since Christmas is right around the corner. After a lot of searching, I found the perfect table, four chairs, and sideboard for less then $250. It had pretty lines, and it is well-built but was ugly. The before photo doesn't really show how ugly it truly was. Part of it was painted white with gold flecks all over. The rest was stained, but I couldn't even tell you what color it was.

To make the pieces over, I spray-painted the sideboard and table black with my power painter. This is how I achieved a smooth finish. I painted the chairs two shades lighter than the wall paint. I covered the chairs myself with a black and white dotted Waverly fabric. I plan on having them redone by a professional after the holiday, but for now, it will do. I also purchased a bench from HomeGoods and painted and reupholstered it to match the chairs. If you'd like to read more about my house and projects, please stop by my blog. Thanks!
