These happy whimsical illustrations are by Janice Jong, who seems to have a fascination with cities. Illustrations are hand drawn, scanned, then colored in digitally. I love collecting art, especially illustrations so this is right up my alley.

She seems to concentrate on cityscapes, but below is an illustration of just chairs of all proportions. The artist takes inspiration from architecture, city life, mixed with a splash of fantasy, hence the whimsy. They seem to draw you to look deeper. I get a sense that someone will appear all of a sudden.

Pricewise you're looking at a very reasonable purchase. There isn't a huge selection but what is there is satisfying. Contact the artist to see if she'll do a particular city in a particular color, I'm sure she's open to suggestions.
