I Am Still Alive recently shared his easy fix for a Marcel Breuer Wassily Chair ($1,658), which is fit for Renewal month. Instead of dropping nearly 1700 bucks on a new one, contacting Knoll or the leather worker you know at an additional expense, he proposes to . . . read more

He writes that his fix involved the following:
Take another chair – in this case a steel seat from the same period, but fabricated initially for a decidedly less rarefied setting (a French motorcycle factory) – and place it inside the Wassily.
What do you think? Clever fix or impractical improvisation? Tell me by commenting below!

Only a guy would call that "fixing" it! I would say a piece like that would be worth fixing, rather than risking further damage.
1That's fug. It's worth properly fixing a breuer.
2I mean, it's a joke, right?
3Right.......
4don't think so.
fix it properly...
5Hahahahaha. It looks like an electric chair! It's probably the stupidest idea ever.
6That is not fixing it. That's taking 2 things that need fixing and putting them in a pile.
7Ummmm trash it...
8It looks like one of those chairs for the bathtubs that you find in nursing homes.
9definitely not a fan of this fix.
10Is he kidding? He obviously live alone!
11Why not just get rid of the Wassily chair and put the old crappy desk chair out. It seems the frame of the original isn't serving any purpose....and it's ugly to boot!
12He should spiff up both of them. I think the metal chair can benefit from a few coat of metal paint (maybe red or robin's egg for the legs and frame and then white for the seat and back). And then throw on a seat cushion. I can see that as a cute chair with some TLC.
13Hilarious!
14The funny thing about this "fix" is that I wouldn't put it past some cheesy art dealer to put it in a gallery in New York as a social commentary piece. I think it is hilarious! great fix! I have a Wassily chair and when it breaks, I am going to do this (but maybe just a stool)! great work!
That's taking 1 things that need fixing and putting them in a pile.
