1I always have flowers in my home so my vases get used. I also don't keep any items around that I don't love.
2I store most of my large vases, but the smaller ones, I usually fill with potpourri and make a cute centerpiece with.
3Hmmm I don't think I would use them to store TP.
My cat would most likely knock it over.

7aimeeb: i, too have a crazy cat, and i store my tp this way. you can get sturdy, heavy vases at crate & barrel that are non-knock over-able!

9Ooooh I have to admit that I can't stand exposed toilet paper in a bathroom. Don't know why... just a pet peeve of mine... I think it always looks tacky and takes away from otherwise well-decorated bathrooms. We have very good friends who have a giant vase filled with toilet paper in their bathroom, and I shudder every time I see it...
10Tell the boy to buy cut loose flowers so you don't accumulate ugly vases.
Better yet, tell him to pick them for you. My husband usually leaves the house in the morning before I do, and oftentimes I find a flower from our yard tucked under my car wiper blade. The nice part is he doesn't wait for a reason to do it.
And I prefer hiding the TP. Only if it's getting low will I put another one in an accessible place (usually a bowl on top of the toilet's water tank)
