Check out the Single Hauz, an innovative prefab housing design from Poland-based Front Architects. If they look a little like billboards, it's no mistake — billboards were indeed the inspiration for these streamlined homes. Supported by a single pole, these small residences are intended for design-savvy singletons. This is because the floor plan for the Single Hauz is just 290 square feet, which includes kitchen, bathroom, and living space on the first floor that opens to a deck. The second floor includes a sleeping loft with roof access.

While some may find these designs a little outlandish, I can't help but think they'd be a great choice in flood-prone areas such as the Gulf Coast. What do you think of them?

Whoa!
1Is there a website where we could see the floor plan? I checked the company's website but everything is in Polish and I have no clue what's what.
2Taboos--I'll look around some more, but the Polish site was the only one I could find. Any Casa readers speak Polish and able to translate??
3This is soooo cool!! Love the one on the water.
4I love it too! And it's not too tiny! I am sure my apartment is smaller then that!
5i love it... brilliant idea...i'd love to spend the night
6It is absolutely gorgeous, and yet it doesn't it seems out of place in the city and with low intimacy. As for the one on water it is quite harmonious, but yet again there is the question of security...
7290 square feet?? A floor plan or pictures of the inside would help me wrap my brain around this one.
Whoah.
8That just screams out for some organizational inspiration from the ever-popular "Living in 300sq ft of Space" Ikea display.
It reminds me of the Hotel Everland that's on top of the Palais de Tokyo.
9STRANGE.... yet intriguing..
10I think this is really cool! I love small living spaces.
11I wonder how sturdy it is. I mean would a strong wind start swaying the whole place?
12If I was totally loaded this would be the tree house I got for my kids (which I haven't had yet.....so that gives me time to get rich....)
13go to the website, click "projekty," click "BUDYNKI MIESZKALNE," click "single hauz," and then click "english" on the left side. a few more pictures, but still no floorplan.
14That's amazing!
15If you go to the website and click "Single Hauz dla każdego" then click on the pdf link, you can make a paper model of one!
16Reminds me of something I'd see on that Extreme Homes show...cool!
17Very unique!
18Living there would be so cool and it's so small!!
19That looks insane!! What an amazing idea! I would love to see more!
20gruaig_rua I was wondering the same thing...flood waters and hurricane force winds seem like they could be the downfall of the house (literally!). Still pretty cool though. Love to see one in person!
21I loooove this!! I want to live in one. Wonder if I could park my smart car underneath?
22That is so neato!
23I love it!
24ever neat!!
25Couldn't you just see a whole bunch of them, condo-style stacked near each other? You could have some Swiss-family-Robinson connectors to your neighbors, a futuristic pod neighborhood? hmmmm
26i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
27reminds me of the ultra slim living in the movie "the fifth element"
