I have a laundry list of chores and renovations to get done and furnishings to buy to perk up my home this year. A part of me thinks I always will, but some have higher priority than others. For example, my kitchen is aching for a new paint job, and I'm on a never-ending hunt for the perfect console table. Tell me in the comments: What's your New Year's resolution for your home?

My resolution for "home" this year is to move it again (we're an active duty military family) to wherever Uncle Sam sends us, with as little damage done to our belongings as possible! So I'll be sorting, donating, yard saling non-essentials and then packing things as efficiently and safely as possible. Happy New Year, and wish us luck!
1To move out of it come the spring!
2To move!
3Hmmm...first off, I need to finish putting together our spare bedroom/office. We recently painted and redecorated, but it's not entirely finished.
I am also painting our upstairs' bathroom, so that needs to be finished.
Lastly, my husband is going to redo our laundry room for me, make it a little neater and put one of those closet organization systems into my bedroom closets.
Busy year!
4I'm building a new house, so mine would be to save so I will be able to afford to decorate it and to refurnish everything!
5i'm moving into a new suite on january 3rd - so first off, i resolve to get unpacked and have everything in (relative) order by january 7th before i start classes again.
this is sort of related to the house i think: i resolve to use my art supplies more often and set aside time each week to do so for at least an hour!
also, to clean/tidy one section of the house (bathroom, laundry room etc) everyday so that i don't have a whole apartment to clean on the weekend.
6Finish the apartment and kill the plumber who's taken allllllll this timeeeeee!
7get new bedroom furniture.
8I have so many...
91. Get organized
2. Finish my guest room
3. Put everything in it's right place for once
4. Keep the house cleaner
5. Get rid of all the clutter
My first comment after lurking for over a year!
I'm almost finished painting the inside of the house. I just finished the master bedroom, the master bathroom is next, and then the office.
10After that, I need to look for a great laundry room color!!
*new couch
11*finish desk
*more art for bedroom
*organize pantry (argggg!)
*find a new bathroom floor mat
*get another spine book case for my growing book collection
*install new door knobs that I bought months ago but too lazy
My resolution is to clear up a lot of my clutter. I have so many newspapers piled up but I feel guilty to throw them out with having read them all, but I've gotten rid of a lot lately.
12I want to make a headboard out of an old wooden desk top. I'll keep you posted.
13We're completing a full home renovation (took her the studs and built her back up again) and have dwindleed our budget to pennies. I still have to do our master bath. It's nothing but pipes right now. So, my project for now is building a master bath possibly from builders leftovers on Craigslist.
14At least my kitchen rocks....
Finish decorating my apartment...
15Move!
Then, maybe paint and buy new living room furniture (the one we have right now is 'destroyed' by our son), and a headboard for our bed!!
16- Finish the kitchen
- Convert the upstairs half bath into a shower room
- Rework the staircase, the old one is dangerous and impractical
- Finish redecorating all the rooms
- Paint the exterior of the house
- Convert the guestroom into a spa
I dream big.
17sooo many... spent all day on the first trying to start tackling the list.
- paint guestroom
18- refinish two new craigslist finds (end table and craft table)
- find perfect color for long narrow hallway
- buy new furnishings for guestroom
- learn how to reupholster a stuffed armchair so i can make our ugly old ones look as good as new!
Find funky furniture for living room
19Buy new mattress
Start collecting art
i just want my home to be mine...i just moved in. im only 20 years old, so its my first place out on my own. im so proud of it, but when i walk in, it still feels like it could be anyones place. im a busy girl, so i want to come home and have a sense of comfort and familiarity that makes me happy and relaxed to be home.
20I want to finish landscaping our backyard, paint our kitchen cabinets and build a headboard for the guestroom and the master bedroom.
21Finish painting the upstairs bathroom;
22Install bamboo flooring in the office;
Paint the guestroom and master bedroom;
Continue adding plantings to the garden borders;
Pay off the hot tub we bought last year!
