Ha! Can't believe I did that well on this quiz. I think the only reason I missed one was b/c with our cats I just can't put the temp lower than 65 or 60 degrees. Ok, I know they have fur coats, but still!

I missed the weekend one also because of cats -- one in particular, who can't handle the cold as well as the others anymore -- and mice (who spend much of their time in their little nest cuddled to keep warm at our normal temp for the house).

I had no idea guests heated up the place that much. Cool quiz.

I knew the correct answer for leaving for the weekend, but I never follow it and just turn OFF my heat. I've never though about the consequences of freezing pipes... but I live in a condo building, so I guess the heat from the building and other tenants prevent my pipes for freezing.
I am really trying to save and use minimal electricity because our bills have been so high in the past, so I haven't turned the heat on yet, but it's getting down to an internal temperature of 58 at night, and with my fiance gone for the next 2 weeks, it's REALLY cold in bed at night! I might have to splurge and turn on the heat a little.

I did really badly on this quiz. What I do know is my husband and I always disagree on the thermostat setting. In the summer, he likes the house cold, and in the winter it's hot-hot-hot!

I thought for sure I'd get these all wrong because Houston doesn't get cold enough often enough for me to know all the ins and outs of heater-ology but...5/5!

I didn't turn on the heat at all last winter (it was rather a mild one where I'm at) and I'm hoping I won't have to this year. It actually snowed here yesterday/last night (just a soft dusting that didn't stick to anything) but I was fine by just containing myself to one room and running a little heater for an hour or two. I keep the doors closed, jump in bed and I'm good til morning.

Julieulie - (and to anyone who's trying to lower the electric bill) pay attention to the things you ahve plugged into your outlets, things that zap energy like cell phone chargers, computers, printers, pretty much anything that's more than just a simple electrical cord. You know the devices that have the big square pack attached to the cord? Make sure you unplug these when they are not in use because they are energy Vampires! The easiest thing I find to do is keep as many things plugged into a power strip that you can, and simply turn off the power strip when you don't need to use it. My boyfriend and I started doing this and our monthly bill dropped $20, and that was the only thing that we had changed about our routine. So try it, it really helps!
