Boex 3D Creative Solutions designed this quirky bench to see if it could "incorporate an everyday office object into a piece of furniture." It's made up of 1600 pencils, and each can be removed and used. The bench won the "Best of Show" award at the 2007 Cornwall UK Design Week. Do you think it's a winner?

2I would love to have this for my classroom!!! Then my students would never ask me to borrow a pencil...haha.
3Wouldn't the eraser bits get worn out if you sat on them a lot??
And they'd get dirty from the dye on your jeans, etc...
Design wise looks cool, but it didn't take long for me to think... "ew".

22I think it looks super cool but I have to agree with the other comments – seems like it would get very dirty and not be that comfortable... I'd love to see it with a clear (glass) top to use as a coffee table though!
