Normally I'm totally on board with Anthropologie's home items. I love its upholstery fabric, fanciful chandeliers, and elegantly shaped furniture. But, I cannot abide by these Fairy Tale Ottomans. Each retails at $298, and Anthropologie claims that they're a "wildly imaginative take on the traditional footstool....Its petal top calls to mind make-believe flowers." Hmmm...in my opinion they call to mind tatty preschool furniture from the '70s. Am I off base here, Casa readers? Let me know by telling me how much you'd pay for these odd little ottomans.

i'm pretty sure i could make something like that for less than 50 bucks, and even then i would hide it in a child's room . . . in a closet!
Horrendous, I wouldn't even let my cat ( if I had one ) sleep on it
I don't like them at all...so I would not pay any amount of $$ for them!
Free and even then I wouldn't take them...
I think they are worth about $50 because it looks like a lot of work went into each one. But I personally wouldn't buy it.
Everything at Anthropologie is grossly over-priced anyway, so this doesn't surprise me.
I wouldn't pay a dime for these. Ok, well may be dime....but no more.
Preschool furniture from the 70's? No, you ARE off base. It looks more like craft time with preschoolers in the 70's.
I'd pay 12 bucks at Hobby Lobby and make them myself! They would be cute in a baby's room next to the rocker. If I make one I'll send a pic.
I agree with krenelk - I could make this for less than $50 - and I think it would look better...Ok I know it would look better.
I think they're kind of adorable for a little girl's room...but I'm on board with the gang, the price tag is absolutely beyond ridiculous. My crafty mother could whip this up easily...one $40 trip to Hobby Lobby and an afternoon.
Church Holiday Fair time
never underestimate the Yuppie Parent.
I think they would be cute in a nursery.
I don't really think I'd even keep if they were free.
Maybe like $50 at most and only if it went with my daughters room decor lol
It looks like something my grandma would make.
You would have to pay me $50 to have this in my place
If I had a 3-year-old girl, maybe. And that's a big maybe. I think I could do better with a little felt and craft glue.
This would only work in a kids room - and even then it's still ugly
wtf? i am sure i can find something less ridiculous to splurge $300 on!
The 2nd and 4th from the left would be kind of cute for a nursery. But I agree with many of you; I could make this myself for much less.
Agreed CasaSugar, they're tasteless tack that parents like to decorate they childrens bedroom with and wonder why they turn out as psychotic serial killers. There's an interior design crime and the perp should be locked away for life!
I said I would pay $50ish... but, that is only to use in a kids room... This is not ADULT furniture!
Nope, not even if they were free.
i'd only take it if it was free and only so my dog could use it as a chew toy.
they're kind of creepy looking...
They couldn't pay me enough to put one of these in my house!
those are fugly!
Wouldn't even keep if free! Yuck!
i wouldnt even keep it if it was free!
Sorry, girls, I'm a Yuppie Parent and I love these. I think they've got a European, funky, hand-made, uber look to them. Not so boring, Pottery Barn Kids.
That being said, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for some felt layered ottomans that my kids and cats would rip apart in under a year.
I think they're kinda cute for a kids room. I would not pay full price however.
This is ridiculously priced. I could easily make it, and it's cute, but only for a child's room.
i wouldn't pay anything and if it was given to me free i'd throw it away. MAYBE if i had kids i'd feel differently, but they look so old school that i think even kids today would not be impressed.
i would definitley NOT purchase for myself at any price, including free. Maybe if they were free I'd put it in a playroom for my neices.
