Collecting things—stamps, foreign coins, perfume bottles, matchbooks— can be a fun hobby. It can also be a great way to decorate your house, and to create little vignettes. Sometimes though, I feel like people need to draw the line with their collector's items; it can become a tad obsessive.

No, I don't collect anything...
My parents kind of did and I never carried that trait on...I throw things out a lot and try VERY hard not to be a pak-rat.
I collect vintage parfume bottles (crystal ones) and decanters. I use a new vintage-looking decanter to hold my mouth wash! and I use several other vintage crystal pieces for my dressing table/vanity, as well as by my sink in my bathroom. it's fun, and a little bit glam!
I collect odd things but nothing major like a pack rat. I like things clean and no clutter.
im an super dooper minimalist
im actually a purger
I try to avoid collections because I inevitably grow tired of them after the first few pieces...but then spend years trying to convince my family that I reeeaally don't want more of it for Christmas, etc. It took around five years to persuade my mother to stop buying me holiday themed mouse figurines after I stupidly commented on how cute one was when we saw it in a store. Now I try to limit collections to functional things...love the perfume bottle/decanter idea. At the moment, the only thing I get on a regular basis are pieces of Good Earth or Pace pottery. You can decorate with them and then pull them down and use them as serving pieces. Great.
I collect old cocktail shakers. But I kind of regret it because everyone always buys me martini glasses. I have about twelve sets of glasses and I can't throw them out because every time we have a party so and so wants to use the set they bought me. So I guess I collect both shakers and glasses lol!
i collect playing cards. they're great conversation starters.
I have a collection of tea pots that come from different countries all over the world.
I'm a minimalist except when it comes to purses, shoes & sweaters.
I collect lip gloss. Oh and nail polish. And glassware.
I collect shoes, purses and even though I have an Ipod, I still collect cds
I don't collect anything; I'm a minimalist and can't stand clutter. It's funny that the picture is of perfume bottles, though, because I've always said if I collected anything that's what I'd collect! They're so beautiful and unique now-a-days!
haha, i'm with partysugar....i collect lipglosss. and carry it all around with me.
Nope. My attention span is too short to build up an actual collection of anything. Besides, I don't like clutter or knick knacks.
i was going to say no but then i read britt2121's comment and realized i do seem to have a weakness for handbags, shoes and sweaters. i'm a constant purger because it keeps life simpler.
I collect paintings and vintage cookware
i collect hello kitty stuff. in the house we just bought, there are these shelves built into the laundry room that are super tiny so I couldn't figure out what to do, but then I put all my Hello Kitties there! so cute! and my husband is glad b/c I used to have them all over the top of the book cases.
I constantly purge nick-knacks, prefering a cleaner look, BUT I do collect one thing - champagne flutes! I don't buy in sets, only singles. They're so lovely looking, and perfect for throwing a party - everyone knows which glass they belong to, and you don't have to use those tacky glass identifier charms. I wish I could say I came up with the idea on my own, but I stole this one from my neighbor two years ago.
books! it's absurd how many i have.
For a long time I collected tea cups. No sets, but unique, individual hand-painted bone china tea cups. Then I started collecting tea pots and that's when it all spiraled out of control. As much as I love each and every one of them, after awhile I couldn't deal with the sheer numbers anymore. I have most of them stored away. Who has the space to display them AND I have no interest in dusting and cleaning them all all the time. My collecting days are over.
I seem to collect everything! I love Hello Kitty, and pretty much anything cute.
i can't think of anything i love so much that i would want a bunch of them lying around. i do like mletrav's stolen champagne flute idea though.
I'm too sporadic to actually collect anything.
If anything, I get bored too quickly.
I've really tried to cut down...I'm so anti-clutter these days. But I will always collect fabulous fashion books, art and vintage bags! xo
I love that word... creepily.
I collect Mickey Mouses! I also collect pictures and art. I love to take pictures of everything!
I collect trinkets, usually little oddities from places I've visted or amusing things people have given me as gifts. I think my collecting became a bit out of control several years ago when I began collecting Vintage My Little Pony. It was bad
I collect photography prints by a photographer named Jim Nielson, Christopher Radko Christmas ornaments, and that's probably about it.
You might also say I collect beauty products
I seem to always get perfumes/sprays for holidays..
I like to collect those little jade Buddhas
i never collect. i don't get the allure of gathering a bunch of the same useless object in different colors.
I collect shoes, bags and jewerly, and I started to collect vintage cristal fruit and vegetables........buy my husband really creep me out he collects any kind of bottles, taps, corks, toys ufff like a pak rat, triying to change him now!!
