This Industreal Embroidery Bowl ($228) is like nothing I've ever seen before. It's a glazed porcelain bowl that has holes bored in its surface to allow a pattern to be embroidered on the bowl itself. It comes with three different patterns, or you can create your own. If you're a skilled stitcher, I think stitching a pattern, color scheme, or specific type of imagery on the bowl would be a great way to personalize a housewarming (or other) gift. I also like impermanence of it. If you get sick of the pattern you've stitched, or it no longer matches your décor, you can always remove it and start from scratch. Unfortunately it runs a little pricey, and to me, it doesn't look or seem worth over $200. What do you think?

The idea is kinda cute but I am definitely not talented with a needle and thread. Plus it's so expensive!
I think it's really kitschy. Besides, what could you put in the bowl that wouldn't get the thread all dirty on the inside? And how would you wash it without the thread getting all natty over time? I'm not really feeling this one. It would be a lot easier to just stitch a fabric band to go around the outside of the bowl.
Cute idea, yet ugly at the same time.
its gonna get nasty dirty
Not very practical, but cute and cozy.
Gonna get way nasty in a week or so. For all that money? No, thanks!
I think it looks horrific! Plasticy and cheap

i think its a great idea, it would be a great craft! but the price is a little too steep for the payout. i'd like to see what lower price versions will come out.
Cool as art, but not very practical.
my gma loves those.
It looks really cheap for costing that much money...
it's cute, but impractical. and way overpriced!
Couldn't you do something similar to a colander? Much cheaper.
This looks like something I did in girl guides years ago, that my Mom hid in a box as soon as the Christmas rolled around, claiming she'd put it back after the Christmas stuff was put away. I forgot about it shortly after, when the next project rolled around.
technicly not embroidery which is defined as needle-work embellishments that decorate a fabric or textile. More a kin to needlepoint which is defined as decorative needlework on canvas (in this case, porcelain) usually in a diagonal stitch covering the entire surface of the material.
It is too expensive and not at all practical.
I like it because it's different.
cute, but waaaay too expensive.
Way to expensive!
Not really my kinda thing...
love the idea but that is waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive.
No way.
I'm not into embroidery.
