I saw these Japanese Maple leaves the other day when I was walking home from work. Their deep colors make me wistful for a more autumnal fall—such as the type I grew up with in the midwest.
Anyone else seeing some beautiful fall leaves?

I completely agree. I'm really happy here in California, but I miss the fall colors I grew up with in the Midwest too!
1Portland OR actually gets some surprisingly nice fall colors. I'm enjoying them right now!
2Me too! I live in GA now but I'm from MI, I miss the beautiful colors from the maple and oak trees, and the cool suuny fall days!
3When i was little I used to collect them and put them in books to save haha!
4Wow, I was a pretty cool kid!
Eastern Massachusetts has some nice autumn leaf action going. It has been a dry year so some trees started leafing early. Northern New England is just about to peak, but I think we have a few more weeks of fine foliage in southern New England. I grew up in the desert so I love having separate and distinct seasons.
5No leaves yet for us here in my part of TX. Our summer was just rain though so maybe that's why. In CO we had some awesome fall colors.
6I live in Boston but was up in NH apple picking this weekend and the foliage was amazing. In the next few weeks it will be at it's peak and I can't wait!!
7I miss fall leaves too! I'm from IN and live in FL now. I make it a point to travel to TN or the midwest in the fall so I can feel the crisp air and take pictures..it's good for the soul!
8I'm in Chicago and saw some today!
9I lived in Indiana for 3yrs and really miss the colors. We get nothing like that where I live now, but we did drive through the mountains (an hour away) where we did pumpkin, raspberry and apple picking and we saw some Aspens in full glory at the higher peaks. Beautiful!
10GA here. It's finally getting to be a cool 80 degrees. We have a while to go before the leaves change colors.
11i'm so jealous!
fall is the most beautiful time of year on campus at UBC - before the heavy
winter rains flood all the walkways. I'm sad to be missing it.
12Ahhhhh yes...Pennsylvania, the Land of Fall Foliage!!!!!
13Our boat is still docked on the lake and we go out and just cruise the coastline looking at all the beautiful colors!!!
14No! These are gorgeous. Sometimes I wish I lived up North where there are actual seasons. I hear Pennsylvania is amazing in the fall for its lovely leaves. Here is Texas, Fall is the day between Summer and Winter where there is a cold snap and all the brown leaves that died in the summer heat that managed to cling to their tree, all collectively fall off in huge heaps. And brown, not so pretty as that perfect shade of red.
15In Houston it's always green.
