I think this is the original meaning of the term "cathedral ceilings."
i love cathedral ceilings, we have them in my house
Wow...I absolutely love it.
thats beautiful.
I have them in my house, this is definatley a catherdal ceiling though. imaginr the power bill!!! YIKES
This place is amazing! I personally love high ceilings - You can do so much more with your decorating and lighting and art pieces!!
aesthetically i think they can be down right breath taking
i have only two issues with them:
1. hard to clean (i have a friend that literally wraps a football with a wet towel and toses it up to get cob webs
2. heating and cooling is higher
Would be amazing to host a party in a space like that.
Wow. I've always imagined living in a converted church.
Oh man, can we say dust bunnies?! And although it looks pretty, that's just not the kind of room I want to curl up in on a cold winter day. It's not cozy.
I could never live in a church. It would bother me personally. They are converting a lot of churches in my area into condos and offices.
Wow. Just wow.
beautiful, loving those ceilings
I used to sit in church when I was little (I'm a recovering Catholic) and dream about how I could turn it into my house. This is AWESOME!
i just want to put on some socks and slide across that floor risky business-style!
I love high ceilings. Most cathedral-style ceilings are no where near that beautiful. If you can take a picture of the top of it whilst standing anywhere in the room (unless you live in a church), it is too short, IMO. Our townhouse is vaulted, and it has separate central air to control the temp up there.
Although it is beautiful, I would not want to live in this particular space. It feels too cold to me... reminds me of church camp or something.
I dislike them except in converted school and churches. I wonder what cooling and heating is like.
Shiny basketball/gym floor!
beautiful!
I love high ceilings and that building, but I personally would not be able to live in an old church!
It's absolutely beautiful to look at, so much so that my first instinct was to comment that "I would hate to live there!" But really, it manages to looks lovely, serene and peaceful. The white walls are lovely, not spartan. The longer I look at this picture, the more I long to be there! Dorm life looks worse and worse...
That's very beautiful, but it'd be a little awkward to live there in person. Overall, though, I love high ceilings.
It is a pretty room but I don't think I could live there. Too much open space. Is there a word for the opposite of claustrophobic?
Oh my goodness, that's beautiful! I could so live there.
I like high ceilings, but that room looks less like a home and more like an modern cathedral people put furniture in. I like the style of the furniture, I just think the ceiling is a little too high., The floor is very shiny though. Nice.
oh my! i wish i had that much space!
i think its totally gorgeous!! i love open spaces... and most definitely love the high spaces!
Open space is one thing. Wasted space is another.
OMG OMG! Turn a church into a house! This is best idea I've ever heard! I'm so going to do that when I'm rich. This is seriously like, my new goal in life.
I have high ceilings but these are really high!! I can't even imagine dusting up there or painting!!! Yeesh!
why would you want your house to be an old church? totally creepy. i mean, unless it was the church-cum-library in Venice in the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade movie.
i've lived in 3 places now with high ceilings and too much open space. i just don't like it
at all! besides, aren't cathedrals/churches designed in order to allow a carrying of voices from the guy at the front to the back?! yeah. this just doesn't make sense to me.
