If you're like me, you've had a candle drip onto a wool rug or carpet a time or two. Luckily, my mom told me about an easy way to get wax out of carpets. Just place a folded paper towel over the wax and then press down on it with a warm iron (no steam) for about 10 seconds. The wax should lift up onto the paper towel. Then, just flip the paper over to a non-waxed spot on the paper towel, until you've lifted all of the wax up.

i've used this one before and yes - it really does work!
1if you get any on clothing, find a clean handkerchief or a thin linen that isn't too valuable and iron (no steam) the clothing with the linen on top. Keep moving the linen so a clean portion is on top of the stain until it all comes out- works incredibly!
2Also, if you get it on furniture or something, grab a paper towel and your hairdryer- gently blast the stain with your dryer and collect the wax with the paper towel as it melts.
Genius! I actually have wax on my carpet right now- and I tried scraping it off with a spoon and using an ice cube on it, but no luck. Good to know!
3What about a way to get it off of soft wood without scratching the wood?
That's my problem right now.
4this is really good to know! i dripped a bunch of wax on this really pretty table runner i have about 2 years ago... now maybe i can get it out !
5This same method works on wood, but, in my experience, the wax left an oily-looking stain on the wood.
6martha recommends ice, but I've never had luck with it...
7I tried this..but at first it didnt remove the wax..so then my mom and i pressed it a little longer and we burned the rug! be careful gals..it works just be careful!
8or a paper bag works!
9well, i heard of a way to stop the drips before they happen. somebody told me that if you soak your candles in salt water, it prevents them from dripping.
you just take the candles, and soak them in the salt water and pat-dry and viola no more drip!!
10I was going to suggest that too Laurie
11Funny...i learned the same thing from my mom. Go moms!
12thanks, thats awesome!
