These works of art on the backs of street signs by Andrea Acosta (via Wooster Collective and Notcot) make me want to stencil little designs on surprising surfaces in my house. How would you use the inspiration?

Hmmm...I would make pretty stencils like that on the corners of my mirrors in the bathroom and the big one in my bedroom!
1so cute
2I love it. I was at a little park this weekend and saw an amazing mural on the back of the restroom. It had clearly been commissioned and planned by the park, but it was so unexpected and cheerful that I couldn't help but smile.
3the inside of a dining room chair so when you're sitting at the table and looking at the chairs they have an unexpected decoration
4This may seem like the strangest thing ever, but I think this sort of medium would be great to use on toilets and bath tubs. I NEVER see anything but white toilets/bath tubs, and it would be interesting to have some flowers on the side of the seat or on the inside of the tub.
5I'd stencil a similar design onto an Ikea Lack Table.
6Reminds me a little bit of this Boston-based artist:

I love coming upon her work in the most unassuming corners...
7cute. i like it...makes it not so boring.
8At first I just thought it was paint peeling off the back of the signs
-- it kind of
makes me want to go around and paint my city, but I'm sure it wouldn't be taken the same way, the cops would probably call it vandalism despite the aesthetic improvements.
9I love that, I'm not sure what'd I do in my house but I'm putting that photo in my inspiration image library!
10the inside of a plain doorway without a door (you know, transition doorways) In that little 6 inch strip would be this unexpected joy of stencil
11gosh, i dunno where i'd use this idea - looks great though!
