Teak is a type of hardwood harvested from a tall tropical tree found in Indonesia and other parts of Asia. But despite its Eastern roots, teak is well-known for its popularity in Scandinavian-style furniture. The smooth, golden-brown wood is incredibly durable and weather-resistant, and it won't cause rust when it comes into contact with metal. 1Acutally I like to buy my stuff at Wood You, where you can finsh it yourself (the protective coating). They have some GREAT teak stuff...
When the large section of our deck is completed, we plan on buying 3 of these exact same sets!!!!Just beautiful!!!!

3Teak is great but I worry about how much deforestation is taking place to keep up with consumer demand. Is it really worth killing all those trees just to have beautiful furniture?
4I don't think there currently is a problem nor will it be in the future for deforestation of teak wood.
5Teak is fabulous looking and durable; so much better than white plastic! UGH! White plastic outdoor furniture is so ugly!
