Kanye West [1] didn't take home any prizes at the 2007 Video Music Awards [2] on Sunday — and he's none to happy about it [3] either. But when it comes to interior design, the rapper totally rules. Check out this feature on his Los Angeles home from Interior Design [4] magazine (via Stereogum [5]) and you'll see what I mean.

According to the article, West studied fine art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and he's since amassed a very impressive collection of pop art and contemporary paintings, like this Takashi Murakami in the living room (above). From the looks of it, he's also quite fond of mid-century modern [6] design, and I love the way his decor alternates between stark, subdued palettes and eye-popping color.
