Kanye West didn't take home any prizes at the 2007 Video Music Awards on Sunday — and he's none to happy about it either. But when it comes to interior design, the rapper totally rules. Check out this feature on his Los Angeles home from Interior Design magazine (via Stereogum) and you'll see what I mean.
According to the article, West studied fine art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and he's since amassed a very impressive collection of pop art and contemporary paintings, like this Takashi Murakami in the living room (above). From the looks of it, he's also quite fond of mid-century modern design, and I love the way his decor alternates between stark, subdued palettes and eye-popping color. I love the bathroom, the barstools, and the huge door. It's very well constructed and designed even if I don't love all the art. The whites are beautiful.
