My grandparents are big bookworms, and I have so many special memories of reading with them while we snuggled up on a sofa together.
They're still avid readers, and while I can't always be there to share a book with them, I know that they appreciate a new book in the holiday season. I try to always pick out something special for them, and a book and a blanket is a perfect combination. See some of my favorite finds below.
Cosmence
Rizzo
Polo Ralph Lauren
I like some of these.
1Hi, there…I have another great suggestion for a book for grandparents: “Reporting for Doodie: One Grandmother's Story of Commitment, Frustration and Unwavering Love.” It's the account of how deployment - in my case dual deployment - affects the caregivers at home. It's a funny (sometimes very funny), sad and heartwarming account of how my life changed when asked to care for my 2-year old grandson when I was going through an unexpected divorce, facing the loss of my home, making major career changes and temporarily losing the use of my right (dominant) hand. It’s also a story of inspiration that shows that we can get through anything! My story of reinvention through this experience even got me on the Oprah Show!
2Through Veterans' Day, a percentage of my sales will go to Project Valour-IT, a program sponsored by Soldiers' Angels to provide voice-activated technology to our seriously-injured soldiers. I cannot stress enough how this program changes the lives of our seriously-wounded soldiers!
Books make a great gift...why not do some early Christmas shopping and help a very worthy cause in the process? It’s a great gift for grandparents everywhere…especially those caring for their grandchildren and for all military members and their families.
Please visit my website at www.ReportingForDoodie.com and read the first chapter on the "Sneak Peek" tab. I think you’ll like what you read! Thanks for checking it out and thanks for this great group!!
