A lot of people tend to paint their exposed brick walls white, if they do at all. But gray is so neutral that it can also handle the pattern and texture of the brick without feeling overbearing.
This is pretty much what I wish my kitchen looked like, but slightly less severe. Those chairs! That light! Exposed brick walls, a funk clock, a cute sideboard. Sigh.
