LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are small, solid light bulbs that are extremely energy-efficient, lasting 10-15 times longer than standard incandescent lights. Until recently, LEDs were limited to single-bulb use in applications such as instrument panels, electronics, pen lights and, more recently, strings of outdoor Christmas lights. However, recent improvements in manufacture have lowered the cost of LEDs, making them more accessible for use in the home, in AC and DC receptacles, lamps, recessed and track lights.
