A recent SFGate article tackled the question of what to do with children's artwork. Although I don't have any kiddles myself, friends' children have given me some lovely drawings, and I've often displayed them on the mantel for a while. However, I've never gotten around to framing anything. In the article, one mom is noted to "proudly displays walls' worth of her children's work. Her family's guest bathroom is covered floor to ceiling with art by her 11- and 13-year-old daughters."
Are you in this camp, or do you chuck the little ones' art in the recycling after it's served its time on the mantel or fridge?

Yes absolutely ...... I treasure all of her artwork.Actually some of her drawings were put on display for a couple of art shows that were held at her elementary school in the past few years. I also have a nice canvas bag with her first drawing from pre-school,a couple of coffee mugs and key chains with various drawings on them that I was able to purchase from her school.
1Some are framed and others are recycled. Ones that have been featured in art shows or ones that I just find particularly artistic are framed. But I certainly don't keep every little thing they draw for me. I will keep one or two for each age that they were drawn though to show their progression in art.
2Kudos to parents that frame, what a great way to validate the hard work your kiddo has done! I am an art teacher and if I had it my way (a few magical assistants and lots of money!), I would photograph all the artwork and then publish it on a book from iphoto or snapfish. That way, the work is in one place and what a great keepsake!
3I framed a couple of favorites, most got recycled and some went into "Mom Boxes" (pretty round hat boxes I get a Homegoods). My son is a teenager now and the art work reminds me of those earlier years.
4I have a huge wall in the basement and we use sticky tack and make a huge collage.
5Yes, and I don't have children. Sometimes for a quick design change, I'll by some very simple frames (large), and have the various children in my life draw a small figure, etc for a gallery-style hanging. Considering I live in a very modern home, children's artwork is a nice contrast!

7I frame the best ones and use the others for wrapping paper.
