My plastic trash can is smelling not-so-fresh these days. Although I originally scoffed at the price of this VIPP Kitchen Bin ($319), the odor-reducing quality of steel is seeming more and more valuable to me — especially considering how many pricey Diptyque candles I've bought to mask the smell of my garbage can. Then again, a good hose-down would do the trick, too. Do you have a stainless steel trash can?

not yet but i was considering buying one just cuz they're nice looking...i didnt' realize they helped with smell though...good to know
1I used to have one but its hard to keep clean and looks terrible with finger prints everywhere. After that one died we opted for plastic again.
2They look great when they are all shiny but if they dull or get greasy prints all over it's no good... plus any garbage with a lid is not good with my kids... they tend to forget to lift the lid then scrap their plate :\
3Yep, we do. It's not as expensive as this one and it's bigger and I agree they have a great aesthetic, esp when they are kept clean.
