ok, so while this is different, i know way too many people who would and do hang the real thing on their walls. not nec for a coat rack, but for decoration none the less...and they do the killin too. so, i am okay with these, in the right setting, but the way they are made they just wouldn't look right in some nice home where ther is no hunting going on.

I like it but I wouldn't hang anything on it, I would just use it as decoration. Would be cool in a cottage.

just yesterday, I was looking at a similar item on urbanoutfitters.com for much less, and in colors... i think they are so cute. but they are something i would put to decorate a room, not in the entrance or living room.

It's like a hunter's decor but no animal gets killed, I still hate it though.

I need to share, i grew up seeing real racks in my uncle's house, and it making me sad that the poor deer were shot. now i understand why they are hunted (to keep the population down so that deer aren't overrun with disease and starvation) but antlers, even fake ones, make me think of those poor deer haha.

My husband would love these but he is always coming up with weird funny things for shock value. He puts rubber life like snakes in our potted plants and plastic spiders under the sheets. Your tooth brush might get frozen into an ice cube or something else silly and harmless might happen. To him this is fine art, and I love him for his quirky sensabilities. I think for a non-hunter, faux antler coat hanger is poking some fun at the mighty hunter mentality.

I think it's like a faux-fur collar jacket. If you're against the real thing, why do you still want a version of it?

I never really liked the whole kill animals and hang them up on the wall idea.

I love it. I've seen this and similar styles in many magazines and blogs the past few seasons or so, I would love to find a white one that is more affordable. I'm a city girl and have never seen the real thing, thank God. I think these are kitschy and usuable, and I am not offended by it in the least. I'm thinking about getting a colorful one from UO but I'll wait until they go on sale (I'm a bargain hunter)...I also like the bird and owl lamp.

hmmmm...my sons daddy is a cowboy so he might like these in his office at home but naaaa not for me!!

We have a pretty modern/artsy decor at our house (my husband is a painter...modern off the wall stuff) and one of the funny things we have is a white ceramic set of antelope antlers that we have over the doorway into our fireplace room. They're not as large as these but they make people chuckle a bit and they fit with the quirkiness we have of the rest of the house.

I would use these in the right place--I'm not a huntin' (real hunters don't put a "g" on the end of that word) fan although my brother and dad are. I love the irony of the fake ones. If you are going to have them in your house, these are the way to go, IMHO.

Antlers are best on an animal in the wild and not mounted as a trophy representing unnecessary cruelty. :|
