A French term meaning "fake wood" and pronounced "foe bwah," faux bois is a material or finish that appears to be made of wood but isn't. A faux bois effect can be achieved by painting, printing, or imprinting a design on textiles, home accessories, walls, and furniture.
Most faux bois echoes woodgrain patterns, though the term can also be applied to items that resemble like logs, roots, branches, and bark. There's even a blog called It's (K)not Wood devoted to the decoration.

I surely could use one of the decor items that incorporates this
1Hmm.. I dunno how I feel about "wooden" pillows hehe. I agree with vienvien, I wanna see how it looks in a real setting!
2I love my faux bois skirt by Isaac M. via Target. It was the perfect attire for a meeting of the board of directors for a lumber company. Wood is wonderful.

4I think faux bois is a really fun accent.

6i like this look. the woody accents the better. this is such a cozy look.
7Hmm, I think this could definitely go both ways. Used as an accent it could be fun, but I can't help thinking of horrible 60s fake-wood paneling hell either. . .
8I love faux bois accents! That pillow is pretty awesome.
9Something different!
10Whoa... that wooden or faux bois pillow is HOTT! although it would have to appear alongside other, out of the box, but very ordinary designs. or even a textured rug pillow? no?
11I've seen it done and really liked it but I'm not a fan of these patterns.
