My buddy geeksugar posted a poll about this Google News Cushion ($120), and I'm curious to know what you guys think. Designed by Elodie Blanchard, the statement-making pillow is emblazoned with the top 10 Google News stories of 2006. (2003 and 2005 versions are also available.) The more I look at the limited-edition design, the more fascinating it is— though it feels slightly exploitative to have a pillow that reads "Hurricane Katrina" on my couch.

Exploitive -- Yes. That's one way to look at it. In the meantime I can think of about 1001 other things that I'd much rather have printed on a pillow besides the likes of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
Interesting conversation piece in someone else's home, but I wouldn't want them personally.
Ugly and nonsensical
As it stands now, it's ugly but it's not a bad idea. But maybe if they change the design of the pillow and definetly the typeface I think it could work.
Google needs to stick to online stuff ... the pillows are hideous and I wouldn't want them in my decor.
Yes I understand how these can be ugly; however its all how you use them. I think they can be interesting accent pieces in a...lets say...black and white decorated room. For 120 dollars though, I dunno?
Shouldn't it be "Iraq"?
Oh wow... I could see Paris Hilton's name every day on my sofa, or my bed...
Pass
Hmm. I really don't know if I want something in my home to remind me that in 2006, Paris Hilton was a bigger news topic than cancer or Hurricane Katrina. Yeah, I'm with everyone else. I don't even want a magazine in my home with her name on it, much less a throw pillow...
That's just weird.
No thanks!
Irak?
Definitely not. I'm guessing that it's "Irak" because when people googled it, they didn't know how to spell it. And that just makes these more wrong!
nope
not for me
Really do not like to see all of those awful things expressed on one pillow. Ew.
I have a problem with Iraq being spelled "IRAK".
Hated it on Geek and hate it here too!
Intellectually, I get that these pillows offer a sarcastic commentary on celebrities and our pop culture. Aesthetically, however, I would not to buy them or have them in my home.
love them, fun, and meaningful in a superficial kind of way.
haha gay gay gay so horrible
if the words read diferent like random things wud be cool but celebs? haha get real
I like them actually, I think they'd be an interesting piece in a home office or something. Since ppl so often decorate their houses for a sense of escapism, I think it's cool to inject a little reality every once and while - like the things ppl find interesting and newsworthy.
I love them. I think they would be great in my home office. They're interesting, they match, and they're al ittle piece of history. They'd be a great conversation piece, but not for $120.
It's just wack
I like them but they should have had my name all over it Scoop4
i would have these if they were giving them away free!
oops, i meant "wouldn't"!!!
Ridiculous!
they would be better without the celebs- who wld want a constant reminder of paris in their room?
I don't hate it... but i ain't buying it
Irak = hilarious in a social-commentary sort of way. They should make pillows using the most-commonly misspelled searches. I bet those would sell even more.
Please, I hope that "Irak" is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe if those things were things that you cared about. The 2003 one is much better.
i find them boring.
I love it!!! But, I'm ADDICTED to gossip columns and I really like knowing what people are doing...I'm a bit of a "people watcher" sooo, they are just right up my alley I suppose!
I love them, so cool! I want one!
You know, I actually kinda like these. I think in the right setting, they would be pretty cool. Not in my house though
though it's not my thing it's kinda cool for a high school grad that wants to remember that year
