Lavender is one of those shades that I never think to use, but when I see it done well, the shade feels incredibly soothing. Case in point: This photo from the home of Brooklyn-based artist Lorena Barrezueta that was just featured on Design Sponge. Have you ever painted a wall lavender?

Love the lavender walls, hate the chair and what's that stark blue color on the right side? It seems it doesn't match with anything there
I've never painted a wall Lavender, but my mom did in her apt. I didn't like it.
My daughter's room is this color. Very girly, but I agree with vienvien I really don't like that chair or that blue.
dizzy
i love love love purple (esp light purple like this lavendar) and have my bedspread in that exact shade. something about purple... i think it's being a libra.
I would love lavendar walls! It's very soothing...
I did lavender walls in my room in high school and while I liked it, I was glad to move on to bolder colors later.
yes, i like that with the gold accents around the room. very nice.
I once moved into a room that was already a pale, cool lavender. Unfortunately there was little light to that room so the overall effect was very melancholy and sad. It wasn't for me.
I painted one room in my house when it was new before moving in...the guest bedroom became lavender. Love it!
My living room walls are "Quiet Refuge" in Behr paint which is almost a lavender/mauve shade, looove it!
WOW how strange....my room is almost an exact replica of this room minus the wooden floors...hmmmm?
My bedroom is lavender right now... maybe a more dusty purple shade... thanks to the people who owned this house before. It was the first thing I wanted to change about the house. The only reason it hasn't been painted yet is I haven't decided what color to change it to.
Lavender/purple for a room seems too little girl for me.
I love the lavendar with the green chair...green and purple shades go very well together...and the blue is a pop of color in the midst of very tame colors. The more muted a color, the more of a neutral it tends to be.
Yes I've used lavendar in a room, it was a little more greyish tone and I did a deep plum accent wall.
My master bath is painted lavender. Looks nice.
Ooh, I like this shade! I wonder what it is? Lavender and light blue are two colors that I can never find a right shade for...
lavender is so calming
In high school my room was lavender, and it was uber girly...I'd recommend doing an accent wall. If you're going to do all the walls, make sure the furniture and other focal points in the room have a masculine edge to avoid looking too frilly!
I really like that color, but I probably wouldn't use it in my apartment. I live with my fiance` and he would insist it was too girly.
my home office is painted this color and i love it! it was tough to get the hubby to agree with it, but once it was done, he loved it too!
I just can't do lavender. Of course most pastel and clear colors are way off my chart.
misslarue, what brand of paint/shade did you use? I want to paint a wall in my bedroom, and I really like this color...
I think it's pretty, but quite feminine.
My master bedroom is a lighter version of this lavender and I love it.
I love the lavender walls, and the color of the tan chair, but not the style. That blue thing has to go! It ruins the calm mood suggested by everything else!
Especially love the cute dog! What a great touch!
I haven't but my sister did and I didn't like it to much.
My bedroom walls are lavender and I love it. It's very relaxing.
All the lavender walls I've ever seen have looked quite lurid. . .maybe they just haven't been that *perfect* shade that can be so elusive in interior painting amongst certain colors (purple now included, I suppose!)
Love the lavender and the dog, too cute not to mention.
I love the antique-y look of it, and even though I'm not liking the blue, it appears to bring out the lavender even more.
My room is lavender-my dad painted it while I was away on vacation- I hate it. Feels like a 5 yr olds room.
I think it looks great! We opted for very bold accent colors in our home - but if I was a single woman I could see having a lavender room.
when I was younger my parents let me choose the colour of my bedroom walls (big mistake!). They ended up a dark lavender, and because my room doesn't have much natural light the whole room ended up *very* dark.
I loved it at the time, but I'm very glad to have bright white walls now. Much more energy efficient as well - I don't have to have the lights on half as much!
The lavender is very soothing and relaxing, I love it! I would paint my bedroom that color any day, but I think it might be a little too feminine for my fiancee. I love it though.
My mother painted my bedroom lavender when i was 13 but it turned out to be more of a blue colour
The walls in this room are lavender. I love them. I had lavender walls when I was younger as well. When I get my house I'm painting the living room lavender with white trim and adding darker purple accents. I can't wait.
I painted my bathroom lavender. It's really calming, the color is called clove smoke. I love it!
I love the shade of lavender on the walls in that room.
thats very elegant. love it!
my bedroom walls are the same color, with green, gold and chocolate accents throughout. I also have a cheetah print chair in the corner to toughen it up a bit. I know this was posted months ago but I had to comment as I LOVE it. ♥
