Lately I am loving swings hung indoors, like the one in Padma Lakshmi's home. But really nothing beats an old swing hung from a sturdy tree outside. I love the idle oscillation of a heavy wooden bench. It's a great place to read or chat with a friend. Do you have one?

No, but I will some day. My favorite spot at my grandmother's house was this large, green swing that we would sit on and talk for hours at end. My dream house definitely will include one.
1I would love to have one! We used to have a tire swing and a swing on the porch, plus the actual swing set!
