I rent...until I know where I'm going to settle down and put my roots, I don't want to go through the hassle of buying a house and all the maintenance that goes with it. I know rent isn't an
investment, but I've got a roof over my head, right?
Both! I know, weird, right? I rent in the Bay Area, but I own a home where I'm originally from. I don't have any plans to go back anytime soon, so I just rent that one out.
I live with my parents! The topic on my mind at the moment is the logic behind renting a place, when I can and do easily live with my parents rent-free and put that money aside for when I am
ready to buy my own home. Sometimes I wish I had my own apartment so I could decorate as I like, but one day I will have a house in which to do so, so I will wait!
i can't afford to own right now. if i could get a mortgage with a monthly payment of $1800, then i'd buy one with my current roomies. so that's not going to happen any time soon in orange
county.
unfortunatley we live in a time when buying is not as easy as it used to be. House prices (in Los Angeles and surrounding) are so high..... which makes renting the only option for a lot of
people(I work in real estate).
We rent....it works for us cause is an apartment building and is really cheap compare to what you usually get here in NY, besides we don't want to buy anything yet until we can afford
something new, we don't want an old house that needs work, etc.
We rent and own. Our house is currently in the construction stage (our first house actually!) so we'll being doing both for a few months until we stop renting and move into our house.
My boyfriend and I moved from southern CA to TX last year, and he was able to buy a very nice house here for less than half what a similar house would have cost in CA...Technically i don't
rent, but i help out with the bills
Well technically we "rent" however my boyfriend and I are living in his parent's house while they are living in China for 3 years because his dad's job moved him out there. So we pay rent,
but it is just utilities. We are not looking forward to paying actual rent when they come back!
We rent. Unfortunately at this time in our lives, we can't afford the $450,000 for a fixer upper dump here in the Bay Area. I married a flooring contractor, not a lawyer! LOL
i'm kinda like you glam sugar, my husband purchased our home before we were married, and he doesn't have me pay for anything! it's a little different being married b/c we're supposed to share
everything, but i'm in school right now, so no income. he take very good care of me!

16I live with my mom too..but its so I can pay off my debts
however, we are looking to buy a condo in
the near future...I'm tired of renting
17We own. Why pay someone else's mortgage?

23my boyfriend and I bought our very first house 3 weeks ago. We don't get to move in until Sept but I'm so excited!!
24Own!
25We own. My hubby and I bought our first house around Thanksgiving. I feel much better paying my mortgage instead of someone else's!
26unfortunatley we live in a time when buying is not as easy as it used to be. House prices (in Los Angeles and surrounding) are so high..... which makes renting the only option for a lot of people(I work in real estate).

38Rent. In my neighborhood a one-bedroom condo or co-op is at least half a mil, an entire house is well over a million at the minimum.
39rent

43Just bought a house 2 months ago. It's wonderful! I love feeling invested in something.
44My husband and I just bought our first home. It's been three weeks and we are loving every minute.
45I rent, but would love to own a home. I want to move, so it's not smart to buy a home where I am at right now.
46I rent with 2 friends. Who can afford to own when there single!!
