I've been stockpiling shelter magazines since before I had my own apartment to decorate. But as my beloved pubs continue to fold (RIP House & Garden and Domino), I want to protect my issues more than ever.
I was delighted to learn of a magazine binding service offered by Denver Bookbinding to aid my archiving efforts. Send the company your ole Dominos and they'll bind your mag stack into as many hardcovers as you'd like. You can choose from 20 different colors of grade F buckram material, a highly durable, acid-free, library-quality canvas, and have the title, volume, year, and months printed on the spine. Foil stamping can be done in gold, silver, white, or black. One book up to 12 inches in height and two inches thick will cost $50, but the price per book decreases when you order more books. And if you want to get fancy, you can pay extra for front cover stamping, imitation leather, or decorative lines.

1I've been cutting out the pages I want or am inspired by, then I stick them in plastic sleeves, and then place the sleeves in a binder specifically for each magazine.
Not nearly as heavy as keeping all of the mags!
2I also do the same thing as amybdk. Archiving magazines by professionally binding them together saves storage how?
3I've been trying to go through 3-5 mags/day (by tearing out pages, ideas that inspire me) to REDUCE clutter.
And ... $50/book would be rather expensive.

4I do the same as amybdk and chi collector2, I keep binders with pages/articles from magazines that I want to refer back to with decorating, home storage, kitchen tips etc.
5What a great idea! I also kept at least the last year's worth of Domino and I collect Sienna Miller's covers. This is a stellar idea to keep them looking classy! Thanks so much for the fab idea!
6I remove the pages from my magazines that are the same size
7and that I want to keep. The discarded pages get recycled
and the pages are bound. When they go to the bindery, the binding edge has to be even..not torn...but I have a custom title printed on the spine of the book, so I know what is in each book. Saves space because you keep only what you want and they look nice on you book shelves.
