8 Reasons to Tie the Knot at a National Park
In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed the "Organic Act," creating the National Park Service, the new federal bureau in the Department of the Interior protecting the 35 national parks and monuments then managed by the department. Now, the United States' national parks are made up of nearly 400 natural, cultural, and recreational sites across the country, including massive parks like Yellowstone, and historical sites like the Statue of Liberty. Besides showcasing national historic and environmental treasures, many of these parks are also available for wedding ceremonies. Check out my top reasons for getting hitched at a national park.

"For the benefit and enjoyment of the people" T. Roosevelt.
I LOVE our National Parks!! There is going to be a special on PBS this Fall I believe, The National Parks, America's Best Idea. Check it out!
And when hubby and I renew our vows some day I would love for it to be at one of our National Parks.
Thanks for this Casa!
1Glad you enjoyed! And I love that you and your hubby are renewing your vows at a National Park!
2We got married at a provincial park, and I wouldn't have changed anything about it! It had the big bang of oohs and ahhs I wanted and still made it affordable. (many guests were out of town, the park was new to them)
3Great idea! I've been considering getting married in one of California's many state parks for awhile now - but this clinches it. It fits my bf and so well since we spend a lot of time camping and hiking in these parks and nature is a love we share.
4We have the most romantic park in my hometown. I'd get married there.
5We got married at Letchworth State Park in NY- it's also referred to as the Grand Canyon of the east. Our ceremony took place overlooking the gorge and a waterfall. It was beautiful, and extremely cheap. It also gave out of town guests a chance to check out a hidden treasure in NY. The weather, of course, is something to contend with as there usually are not indoor facilities, and parks have strict regulations about tents- we were not allowed to put up a tent in the event of rain. Luckily, the weather was favorable, and everything turned out perfectly!
